Middle Things Middle Remote
Treefort's Middle Remote is a compact hardware controller for Middle Control. Plug it into the computer running Middle Control with the USB-C cable and it shows up in the sidebar within seconds, no extra software needed. From one controller you move the gimbal and adjust the camera.
What’s on it:
- 3-axis joystick — move it to pan and tilt, twist it to zoom. Speeds are adjustable, and any axis can be inverted or remapped.
- 8 touch-sensitive encoders — assign them to iris, gain / ISO, white balance, tint, shutter, focus, contrast, saturation, black level, ND, roll, or the pan / tilt and zoom speeds. Pressing an encoder works as a button too, so you get 8 more buttons.
- 4 OLED displays — show the current value of each encoder in real time.
- 4 RGB buttons — select cameras by default; assign them to ActiveTrack, record or anything else. A sticker pack is included to label them.
The Remote controls any camera, gimbal or PTZ head that Middle Control supports: Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, Lumix, Panasonic, OBSBOT, Z CAM and more over the network, and DJI RS gimbals through an APC-R. Check the compatibility page for your setup.
If you use a Blackmagic ATEM, the OLED values stay in sync with the switcher, so the Remote always shows what the ATEM has. In multi-operator setups, each Remote can be locked to its own camera; its CAM buttons then switch between that operator’s cameras without affecting anyone else.
Middle Control is free and runs on macOS 12.4 or later (some camera integrations need a Middle Control Pro licence). A Windows public beta supports the Remote over USB.
